[Portsmouth] January 6. Agreeable to the design of the Sons
of Liberty to sacrifice the infamous abettors of the stamp-
act to their just resentment, they assembled last Friday on
the parade, when the effigy of G--ge G----vine made his
appearance, bound in chains. . . . before him was affixed
the following lines addressed to the public.
Come view G---ge G---ville with attention,
Make this vile stamp, his rare invention,
And here, behold him at the stake,
Observe how ev'ry limb does shake,
